This event comprises two parts: 1. Circular Design Tours and Workshops to be conducted in 5 different locations within Kagoshima Prefecture, and 2. Circular Design Conference, a 2-day conference that creates space for participants to reflect on their experiences and to network with local practitioners, international (esp. from the Asia Pacific region) and domestic researchers and designers specializing in and around circular design, as well as other participants.

With a strong emphasis on local contexts (or what we call place*) and learning via firsthand experience, our goal is to get a better sense, not only on an intellectual but also a physiological level, of the plurality and the autonomous and distributive nature of sustainable societies.

*We define “place” as a geographical point where culture, history, ecology, politics of the people who inhabit the land, as well as the meanings and systems of vernacular practices interspersed in everyday lives fold over one another (cited from Circular Design Praxis).

CDW23は、主に次の２つのイベントから構成されています。：1）Circular Design Tours and Workshops（ツアー＆ワークショップ）：鹿児島県内5カ所で開催されるフィールドツアーとワークショップ。２）Circular Design Conference（カンファレンス）：参加者が自らの経験を振り返り、地元の実践者、海外（特にアジア太平洋地域）および国内のサーキュラーデザインを専門とする研究者やデザイナー、その他の参加者とのネットワークを構築するための2日間の会議。

鹿児島県内の5つの土地を巡り、それぞれの場*に根ざしたサーキュラーデザインを体験し、リサーチし、議論を交わすことで、今私たちが目指すべき持続可能な社会の解像度を高め、その実現に向けた協働への足がかりを築いていきます。
